We were working with electricity and how it works in homeschool. The kids found out exactly what you need to connect a circuit, and make use of the power source.Words: circuit, conductor, insulator, load, resistor, energy, electron, positive, negative, "short", current, flow, voltage
We also explored survival with a 9 volt battery. You can use it, in conjuction with steel wool, to start a fire. The battery sends a charge through the steel wool that is too much to handle, causing it to ignite. If one had some tinder (dry grass, wood shavings, etc...), it would begin burning with a little work, and luck.
